"Record, replay and relive your life"
So says the huge commercial sign that Cairo residents can spot from the 6th of October bridge.
It gets to me every time I pass by and see it. It injures my memories and my life values.
And there comes another way by which to sell more camera phones .. playing on people's feelings.. as if it said "we can give you back those moments"
Well, one thing I know for sure.. they never come back, we can never relive a moment once it's gone!
Father Boulad SJ says in his book "Inner peace" that we've become slaves to photos, that some people enjoy the photos of their trips ore than the actual site seeing... So eventually we're just taking photos everywhere and we're becoming tourists in our lives, we enjoy those captures of the scenes we lived.. only we treasure them more than the moment itself.
And now, the advertising experts and all this bunch of creative people are inviting us to become once more tourists in our own lives in order to sell a phone! What would they do.. if the only way to sell a camera is to get us hung up on memories!
I myself love taking photos, but "Inner peace" added another perspective to every photo I take. When I like a certain landscape, I stop for a minute, I take a good
look, I try to absorb it into my soul and take a mental photo of it, only then "click!" and the photo is captured, but not only to be kept and immortalized but to be shared. Shared as the infinite beauty it has and my feelings seeing it.
May you always see the beauty residing everywhere and keep a whole lot of mental pictures!

I also feel the same thing about photos.
Sometimes I go on photographing trips, where my single aim is to take photos.
But, I agree 100%. When I take photos, I don't really see.
Last month, I was on a trip. I had one hour to tour 2 mountains and a car. It was so enjoyable, but I was so nervouse. I started taking photos and I saw them latert! What a great place I was in.

Shamoussa.. where are you?
I nominated your 2 blogs for the BABA competition. Keep blogging! Go to the website and pick up a logo to show you are nominated. You will need also to do the same for your photo blog. Add more photos to get more chance.
Good luck.
